New Board is up and running

You have to register to post on the new board. It has a lot of funktions, check the ubb-code-help to get familiar with the syntax. I will do some fine tuning over the next days, so dont wonder if you notice changes in the appearance.

"Emergency Update!"

Ok this is SOMETHING IMPORTANT and I want EVERYONE to read this, it's about certain behaviours which we WANT to see in EBR:

-if you join the EBR you got an allie called Team Cow. If you don't like that you shouldn't join. If you got a problem with something Team Cow does, you're not supposed to act on your own. You let them do! After that you can talk to the TC's present, and if they don't want to talk for WHATEVER reason you still do not act on your own. You wait for them to be ready to talk OR you come to Gor-e or Me! You tell us the problem, we talk to Woodstock. Easy thing, but I thought I set this clear in the news. In genreal this means: you heal Team Cow and not their enemy! If it comes to a point where they kill your friends, all you can do is KEEP OUT of the fight. Nothing else. You joined THIS GUILD and therefore you are not acting in any way hostile against Team Cow. Now I don't want you to always KEEP OUT of the fights Team Cow has....only in extreme situations, where you really CAN'T heal because they are killing your RL brother or something like that.

-second point is connected to the first one, but I want to make clear what is meant. You join the EBR, which means you are a ranger now. You are in NO way supposed to act in any way against the goals of the guild or ANY EBR. Same behaviour as above applies to situations with your RL brother.....I hope you get the point. After this has been set clear, we WON'T tolerate any behaviour against these rules.

I actually thought things like this were normal if you join a guild. If this wasn't the case I am sorry, but I hope you get how things are supposed to work in EBR. We hardly have any RULES, but these 2 things are vital to being a ranger. I hope you still have a nice day!

Weekly Update =)

Well I don't have much to say. The PvP Changes are coming, and most of them are really good, because people now HAVE to make a choice. I like them pretty much, and the precast issue has been solved very well....why cry for something there is no real use for anyway (still it sucks when I cast recall, pick up my housekey and have to cast again). I've posted some thoughts on the PvP Changes here, feel free to read them if you are interested, even if you're the enemy hehe =) Some points are bad though...well just read. The Join-Page is bugged, because it takes you back to the main-page before the form is submitted...use your forum to apply meanwhile. I search for another way to prevent spamming. Have a nice day!

Members and joining

As Gor-e is responsible for membership stuff he posted a list of our "new crew" on the msg board. If you want to complain --> complain at Gor-e's ICQ! For any further applications we have a "Join" button up in the navigation, which leads you to an online-application. If your browser is configured to use your e-mail you will be able to fill it out and send it in. If we like what we read in your "application" you will get some Test Fights and probably a Test Week. If you cant fill out the form because you dont have your own e-mail, have a look at the form and write us a message on our msg board. I'll take care of the members-page in the next days. Decisions&Stuff

Sorry for the late update...RL was calling. Anyway we had that small chat, and the decision was that Gor-e is responsible for membership-applications. I'll put up a Join-Form soon, which you fill out if you want to join. No more strange postings on our msg board, you just fill out that form and you are done (only possible if your browser is configured for your e-mail). Despite that we also need a new chat password, which will be icqed around soon, some crazy guy just came in chat yesterday and started spamming, and then said "you guys have this pass for ages now, even on siege"...so I guess we better change it ;) I also got sth sent in by a Member:

Pimps pk(Psycho DaD) died on sunday, nothing special, but the way he died sucks. he was gangbanged by falko zimmermann, newbie, 1 other red, and their 2 blue healers..... well this is actually funny, because falko is the one who always writes shit in TH like"red must stay together..." and crap like this. they tried to kill psycho, unforgiven and tangur some weeks before, but since that was an 3 vs 3 you can imagine the result =) well whatever, shit happens, and if you see falko or newbie with one of your red chars, i hope you know what to do .....

Important Stuff!

OK, today some things went...let's say bad. No biggie, sucks anyway. Therefore the older members will now make a final decision who/which group makes the decisions for this guild. I dont't want to hear stuff like "Derat it's your decision" when the decision is not easy, or "Derat why do you decide" when I make a decision someone doesn't like. Hasn't happened exactly like this yet, but I see it coming :| Therefore I want Gor-e, Nepomuk and Tjodalv to tell me what they like best. I don't mind who has to do this stuff, but one or more of us are going to do it! It's quite critical right now cause of certain probs we have/had with certain things/people. If you want a council of 4 people, it will be slow in reacting, but we should usually get good decisions...hopefully! But no more "your job" or sth. like that. My idea would be to leave the final decision to ONE person, who is supposed to talk about that stuff with the rest. And that person is going to be either Gor-e, Nepo, Tjo or me. Please don't complain that I limit you to these 4 persons, but the rest isn't long enough in the guild IMO (and sordran ain't active).

Ok enough cussing, we have a nice number of members right now, while some of them could use to fight a bit more often together. Usually when you have the standard crew (my point of view) fights are going very very well, when the crew is mixed with people rarely playing we got some probs. Would be cool if we get rid of these problems. So those of you rarely seeing other EBR's, please make use of your ICQ! Have a nice day!

Yesterday Silicosis , Tychikus and Khain of Eshin joined us for Test Week. Therefore we won't take any more members for now, and as you can see we don't need any:

All of us agree that we need time to integrate the newer members, before we can start taking more. Well at least the two persons who can access the stone agree....therefore we won't discuss that *G* We also made some little fights yesterday, to see what can or can not be done without precast, and the results were devastating. Mage vs Mage is ridiculous, usually the one with the most regs will win, so make sure to bring 200each to every fight ;) 2on2 is also quite senseless, we had a fight and it ended when Nepomuk ran out of regs and his partner was finally killed...as a summary you can say: no one is going to die unless he is hit by so many spells at once that it can't be healed. You can of course still pray for a lucky hally hit in the right moment, but well.....;(( GANG BANG is the future!

I don't know the reason for this , but the EBR Members who organize the KotH want to try again , using a....well..KotH Special Y2K Edition . If there is again such a mass of Chaos vs so few Order actions will be taken to ensure some funny fights . That might not be the intention of a KotH , but it will be more fun than gang banging . We took Six of Nine into Test Week yesterday . As far as I see it right now Da Pimp is going to make the test week and stay in EBR , which leads to another thing about our Test Week . I think it will be the best to call it "Test Time" or something , and we leave people in it for an unknown period of time , so we can either end the Test after some days or maybe after 2 weeks , however we please . I don't like being "reminded" that someones Test Week is over , though I can understand that it must be annoying to be left in Test Week for longer than a week .Sometimes you only need a few days to judge a person , sometimes it might take longer . I hope you all agree ;) Have a nice day !

We had a nice gathering infront of the tower lately , leading into a nice duel between Tjodalv and Nepo....ending in a real funny double-kill . Nepo died and , about 2 seconds later the last explosion killed Tjodalv =))))

No need to say we laughed our asses off :D We had quite a lot of EBR's on lately and it's really a lot of fun right now . Good news I guess

King of the Hill Y2K

First of all some other news . We took Da Pimp on stone for test week . I know how many of you might feel about the name "Da Pimp" , that is not a name that suits EBR . And that was what Nepo and I also thought but anyway he was taken into test week . Tjodalv insisted on it and I was really surprised when I met him . He's really not acting like the name so please give him a chance as I do . After test week we will know more . Maybe when name change deeds come he will do us the favor to change it *G* And if not....well then not , we shouldn't take names so seriously I guess .

But now to the Main Event of these News

The KotH Y2K will take place in the Hedge Maze , on Saturday the 15th of January 2000 . This event is ONLY for Chaos and Order Guilds , guild wars should be ignored while the fights last . Grouping of Chaos and Order starts at 10:30 pm CET and the fights begin at 11pm CET ! Visitors are not welcome because of lag but they are of course allowed to take a seat somewhere ON TOP of the small tower or on top of the buildings in the center . PLEASE , do NOT cast spells or fight up there , lag will be worse enough already . Thank you .

I want to add that saturday at 11pm is really not a good time for me , and most likely many others feel the same . Considering lag and open end this might be a good time but I'd really like to see one of these events on another time than friday or saturday evening . Everyone who wants can say his opinion on our msg board so we can come to a conclusion which is the best for the majority of us .

Gor-e's PC is broken right now , he will get a new one in about a week . Until then I will use his acct. to manage the stone stuff because I have login and pass anyway . Sub was taken on stone , he is Geist's mage , and yes he is the old Sub from RUN if you remember him . Though the old Sub sold his acct. to Geist and you shouldn't kill him just for being Sub....Have a nice day!

Good news this time ;)

Geist and Cobra are still with us , dont know where tjodalv got the info they are gone for army......who cares ;) So we're still fine . I uploaded a beta of a new members section for DF though I don't really like it.....though it was made very fast and therefore it's good :))) .Lalala let me think of something to fill the remaining lines....oh yes TC put us back on ally list and apologized for killing a S*S . DOH no good news this time :|

Well Geist and Cobra are in the army now...sucks pretty much but nothing we could change . Josefine decided to stop playing UO , she said it had private reasons , so again nothing we could change . Nevertheless this made me set 3! people to inactive on the page , making it hard for us to maintain all the wars again . It's hard to find a good fight when you're always fighting 3vs6.....anyway that means if there ever was a member-stop it is removed . 2nd thing is Tjodalvs PK Silenoz GOD was killed by TC ;( They said it was an accident and I understand things like this can happen but again a reminder to all friends and allies of EBR :

our PK's are on the Servants of Satan [S*S] stone , the names I can recall atm are : Gore , Silenoz GOD , Sordran , Felon Watts , Nig'Nazug and Damodred . Do NOT kill these persons ! Thanks ;)

Despite that I will try to catch Nepomuk and Tjodalv around 4pm CET today , so we can have a small chat about the current situation , anyone interested to join that chat can say so , we'll think about it then =) Have a nice day!

I did a little search on all the games which will come this year

And despite from UO2 which we will see maybe in the next millenium, there seems to be one MPORPG which is rather promising cause it is especially designed for pvp in larger conflict-groups. its name is shadowbane. if you havent read about it, do it here. Especially the warfare section is worth reading it, cause it will give you a great overview of the guildsystem which cannot be compared to anything existing right now in online games. really very promising.

Well it seems we are really back! =)

We are already accused of gang-banging.....that's a good sign I guess . Not that 3-4 people would be a gang bang , but it shows that we are back , present on the shard and quite successful . It could be better of course but the fights we have are usually quite positive.....at least the "fair ones" =) . If Nepo and Gor-e would decide to be online again we'd be enough to get some real fights going I guess ! Geist and Cobra are now full members , Josefine is in test week , and I guess Baumm isn't really interested anymore.....I remember seeing him on the opposite side....at least I think so =) Say sth. if I am wrong !

Well right now tons of new members seem to apply , and I actually think we should not take anyone right now . We got some new ones on stone and that should be enough for now . I hope you read that Gor-e *G* . If you have a different oppinion you should say so on the Board =)

Members Section updated

Split the members section into Drachenfels and Siege Perilous . DF is up , Siege will take some time until I see how active/inactive we are on Siege . Most of us lost the fun in playing there , because it wasn't the Shard we expected , and we are not willing to spend so much time on char developement , just to see the same crap as on Drachenfels and have some Exploiters build their chars in seconds .

We're not going down like this...again !

Well what to say ? EBR is back....again :) As far as I know now that is Nepomuk , Gor-e , Sordran , Tjodalv and me . When we get Nepo as GM we'll be able to get on stone and have some fun . I don't know how the others see it but I am not going to play the nice guy anymore (I know many of you never did ;)) . UO people keep screwing you anyway , no need to be nice to them I guess . More info to come....on SP there is , of course , no change in our way of playing! There we "Protect the Innocent" just like we should . TC removed us from allies because we never showed up....I guess they have all rights to do so and we should start becoming a guild again before we ally with anyone . Just keep in mind not to attack TC's , they are still friends . I guess a non-agression pact will be fine for them for now (will talk to Wood) . I'll try to update as often as possible and at least weekly...but if there is nothing to update I won't , no need to talk stuff like I do right now . Have a nice day !

Lots of updates today

Well, Derat was a little earlier than me:-)

Anyway, some of you already know, i took a break of UO for the next time and dared to try something new, Asherons Call. To be honest, im really sick of all this PvP-stuff in UO now, and on siege i can hardly compete with the guys who have a ping of 50ms there. And now the banning of 200+ KoC-members for duping,exploiting etc really gave me the rest. it took me 4 months of honest and difficult playing to get my mage to the point where it is on siege now, and others just dupe 3mio gp and macro magery to 100 within one week, buying towers and castles. such things piss me off.

Well, to AC. I really like it, its something completly different. Nice 3D-engine, good xp/skill system and very nice magery system (700+ spells). It seems i will stay there for a longer time than i had planned. Some other ex-EBR guys have already started or play AC since the beginning. Finally good to see some people around.For those of you who "maybe" think of something different than UO, come and have a look. Besides me, Halbart, Jahkee Nebrodi and Vile already play. Those who remember them, Glacnore and Palin are also active on the same server. All of you who a tired of UO and do not dare to quit a corrupt game after 2+ years of playing due to several reasons:

Dare the step, you wont regret it.

PvP tournament and an encounter

Tonite we had an encounter with the guild VJ. Alothough they are red they didnt attack us and we had a talking and killing a wyrm together in ice dungeon. they are mostly former CE and ToM guys and they seem very nice people. So if you see them, dont attack on site, but be careful, one never knows.

Second is, there will be a PvP ladder on siege which will start with a 1vs1 tournament next saturday, the 4th of december. If you want to take part, icq me your char name AND your email. The rules can be foun in this forum.

We switched the chat

To get rid of the buggy-and-now-no-longer-allowing-letters-uo-ingame-chat, we will switch back to irc. I again registered an #ebr channel at irc.stratics.com. If you have no irc-client check our mirc-software. If you have problems using mirc-software, ask me or Derat. This channel will be permanent. Big advantage will be, that you can chat if you are on a different uo-server or even not being online in uo. Same password as ever.

Some infos

The UO-ingame chat doesnt allow any letters right now, numbers work. We use chat 4711 till this lasts. old password.

Estios is GM smith. If you need something, contact him. Btw, first GM smith we have in the guild as long as we exist, as i remember !

Well sound was removed from the page for now....I felt that 500KB are just a bit too much , maybe if I find something smaller or something you can loop I might implement a new sound again .

Members section will take some time until I feel like doing work on the web.......so better don't count on it . I'd like to thank all of ya who tried to tell me which of their chars are on what stone doing what , but I just don't feel like filtering some ICQ's , mails and in game chats and combine them to a members section.....it'll all come down to a walk to the guildstone and check things there....*SIGH* If you have any ideas for the page send them in , our creative web design team is willing to do everything it can to make your stay more enjoyable.....

Just a minor update

We develop rather well in my eyes. We have currently 31 Members and their fighting skills develop rather well. I see us competetive in the bigger battles in about one or two weeks. We already have some smaller fights against AoD and WC in the woods.

If you kill animals, collect the hides and drop them in the house. If everyone makes 100 hides a day, we soon have a GM tailor in our guild.

I also start collecting funds for the house. If you want to donate, i will greatly take your gift.

I moved the page to the new domain.

The old link should still be valid, but you will be redirected to the new home. Also we have a new messageboard (thanks to talkman), menues are in german, but every experienced message-board-poster will get around with it.

Again, i urge everyone on SP to make him/herself familiar with the diplomatic relations we have currently on SP. I added the Family of Ta'Kier to the friends list. Although they are evil-aligned, they seem to fight for the good. They claim dungeon Despise. Have a visite at their tavern, they have good ale there. They can be found under the Status-Link from the main menue.

Finally i have a link, which points to a summory all all important SP-sites in the net. Guild-sites, message-boards and the like. if you want to inform Yourself, follo THIS link.

Well it seems the Alliance with CE is an alliance against UDL a big PK Guild on Siege . That's how I understood it at all . Updates to the Members section will be made when I find the time to check the members list of both shards . I'm pretty sick of running around and searching the members , would be great to always drop me a MAIL when you join or leave . I know no one will but this is MY dream ;)

SP News

We are now allied with the Guild [CE] - Criminal Element . Their webpage is at www.ce.uoguilds.com ! Don't ask me anything about it I don't know them I just make the news...SP status updated accordingly .

I spent some bucks to register www.east-britain-rangers.de. Currently it still points to the old site, but its more than likely that we have to change servers in the future. This domain will prevent any problems when we switch

Status-Update and Siege Pics

Well, founding-ceremony was last saturday. Pics can be seen here.

Also i split the status-page for DF and SP. First SP alliance is with Temple of Mondain. This is comparable to our relationship with TC on DF. Help them if they are in need (they also have red members) or join them while they are hunting. They are really great guys. Negotiations for other diplomatic stuff are ongoing.

Site-Update and some Infos..

Changed the layout a bit and deleted some old menues.

SP: To make some points clear. SP-EBR will not much have in common with DF-EBR (despite some members). As many know, the origins of the rangers are not found in trashtalking, notokilling and resskilling. Many people think they will going to see some similar behaviour as it is known from the power gaming of virtue and guildwars on DF. Our roots lie in complete different grounds, which can be found under the status/history section of this site. SP is currently dominated by many real PKs because of the no statloss-feature on this shard, which enables us to get back to the playstyle we originally had, and THIS is what EBR will be on SP. As soon as our members are able to fight the PKs we will take part in the very HUGE pk-anti fights you find on SP every night. First diplomatic relations are set up with other SP guilds which will enable all our members to take part on these fights without a maxed-out character.

Finally the time has come. With this, i officially proclaim another new home for the East Britain Rangers. This home is called Siege Perilous

The Ceremony will be held on this Saturday, 23rd of October 1999 at 21:00 hrs CET at the all well known EBR-House location. Everyone is invited to attend the ceremony and to join the Rangers on their new home. Everyone on this shard will be welcome to join the guild.
